April 2003

The Wide Angle Vision Foundation (WAVF) was formed by alumni of the first of Victor Wooten's Bass Nature Camps (BNC), held in September 2000. Participants in the camp were so moved by the experience that they wanted to help Victor Wooten in his mission to educate other musicians about how nature and music are related to each other.

The mission of the WAVF is to provide financial assistance to musicians seeking to further their understanding of music's relationship to the world around them, and to provide aid and assistance to BNC in it's pursuit of same.

To this end, WAVF has collected money from alumni of both the first and second camps to provide a scholarship for the April 2002 camp. Contributors and their comments are as follows:

  • Dave Bridich: Sends regards to all.
  • Jeff Coffin : Sends regards to all.
  • Maria "Pete" Durgan: It gives me great pleasure to support scholarships for the Bass/Nature Camp. It's such a wonderful experience. I want to help spread the joy.
  • Frenesa Hall: Sends regards to all.
  • Dave Katsuki: Sends regards to all.
  • Ron Maxey: Sends regards to all.
  • John Spaulding: Sends regards to all.
  • Brian Weber: More thanks to you, Victor, and everyone else involved, for bringing to fruition a dream of yours, which has in turn inspired every one of us to see things a little differently and to open our eyes, our minds and our hearts. Camp had an extremely positive and profound effect on me and almost every aspect of it is now part of me and my life. I'm glad that I can do a little to give back and help someone else experience the greatness of camp. Thanks again, and peace.
  • John Yates: Thank you for the heartbeat.
  • Anonymous Donor: Thanks for what you do!

The Wide Angle Vision Foundation has released a CD of original works of campers. The proceeds support future Bass/Nature Camps. For more information, visit www.wavf.org. We are interested in hearing from all campers and welcome their participation and support.

Peace, Love, Music and Wide Angle Vision To Everyone!
